Individual Therapy
I pride myself in providing a safe, supportive space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Whether you're navigating everyday stressors or facing more complex emotional challenges, individual therapy offers an opportunity to gain insight, develop skills, and foster personal growth.
I work with individuals experiencing a wide range of concerns, including:

-
Identity Exploration: Support for solidifying your sense of self related to aspects of your cultural or racial background, gender identity, sexual orientation, or spiritual practice.

-
Life Transitions: Support for adjusting to new circumstances, processing uncertainty, and making intentional decisions that align with your values during or following major life changes.

-
Trauma Recovery: Trauma-informed support with processing and healing from harmful events. My approach prioritizes safety, empowerment, and trust as we work through the impact of trauma on your overall well-being.

Therapeutic Modalities
My clinical orientation consists of a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Below are brief summaries about the approaches for you to review and gain a sense of what to expect when working with me.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. It’s structured, problem-focused, and based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. By challenging and replacing unhelpful thoughts, clients can improve how they feel and act.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT emphasizes accepting difficult emotions and thoughts rather than fighting them, and committing to actions aligned with personal values. It teaches psychological flexibility through techniques like mindfulness, cognitive defusion (seeing thoughts as just thoughts), and values-based action.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS views the mind as made up of multiple "parts" or sub-personalities, each with its own perspective and role (like an inner critic, a wounded child, or a protector). The goal is to help clients access their core Self, which is calm, compassionate, and curious, and to help the Self lead and heal the internal system by understanding and harmonizing the parts.
